41st Gem: Lois Suriano

Our 41^st gem is Lois Suriano (1935-2013). Lois was the executive director for The Arc Pikes Peak Region and The Pikes Peak Partnership when The Arc Pikes Peak Region was under the partnership, a job which she held for 14 years.

Lois was responsible for the expansion of the organization and by successfully starting several of The Arc’s programs including the Criminal Justice Advocacy Program and the Guardianship Program. 

Lois was also the Volunteer President of the Board at Sunny Vista Living Center and Director of the Colorado Springs Multiple Sclerosis Society.
