The Resource Exchange and The Arc Pikes Peak Region, along with all of our service agency partners, invite you to participate in the 12th Annual Community Legislative Town Hall on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, to be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, from 6:45 pm until 8:30 pm, at El Paso County’s Centennial Hall, located at 200 S. Cascade Ave.
Elected officials from our City, County, State, and Federal delegations have been invited. We look forward to introducing you to your elected representatives and facilitating a dialogue about issues of common interest.
As this is a new location, please note the following details:
- Parking is FREE in the parking garage to the west of Centennial Hall. Enter from Sahwatch Dr. From there, take the north elevator to the 2b stop, and enter Centennial Hall to the south of the elevator. There is metered parking (no need to pay after 6 pm) on Cascade on the building’s east side.
- Wheelchair access to the ground level of the amphitheater at Centennial Hall is by the elevator from the main lobby of the building. Volunteers will assist and direct.
- Note, too, that for the first time, The Resource Exchange will LIVE STREAM the Town Hall! A link will be posted to TRE’s website at www.tre.org as we get closer to the event — check back early and often!
For eleven years, the Town Hall, which is among the largest and best-attended town hall of any sort across Colorado, has resulted in the State’s most consistently-informed and supportive legislative delegation. They seek to understand and remain committed to addressing issues and challenges to the fullest expression of independence by people with I/DD and their families — who are voters and constituents.
We hope to continue to inform and support our elected officials in staying connected to our community and the issues that are important to people with I/DD and their families.
Light refreshments will be served in the lobby; however, there is no food or drink in the amphitheater. As usual, we will be respectful of your time by staying on schedule and adjourning promptly at 8:30 pm. Please RSVP to Ms. Engram at The Resource Exchange at (719) 785-6425, or by email at tengram@tre.org. Thank you in advance for joining us!
